Andrew Caie.

Andrew Caie finds himself living in Kuala Lumpur after taking early retirement from the British Diplomatic Service. His last
overseas posting was as British High Commissioner in Brunei; his first was as a Second Secretary in the British Embassy in
Manila. In between, he has also represented his country in Colombia, Guatemala and Pakistan. At the London ‘end’, Andrew was heavily involved in human resource issues in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including performance assessment and management as well as recruitment. Since early 2006 Andrew has been working in education here in Malaysia. His wife, Kathie, divides her time between KL and commitments in the UK. Their son is working on environmental issues in the UK whilst their daughter is in her third year at Cambridge, reading Classics.

Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad was educated at the Malay College in Kuala Kangsar, Cambridge and Harvard. He was a former Member of Parliament (Deputy Minister), member of the Umno Supreme Council. Detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) from November 1976 to July 1981. A corporate figure and special envoy to the United Nations in New York (1996-2000). In 2001 he became the Group Editor-In-Chief and Executive Director of the New Straits Times group of newspapers and was summarily sacked on November 20, 2003 for political incorrectness. Since January 2005, Tan Sri Abdullah is Chairman of the Institute of Political and Economic Analysis (IKAPE), a privately-funded-non-profit think-tank. He is 71 years old, married with three children and two grand-children and enjoys traveling, a bit of reading, occasional swim, good dining and day-dreaming! Writing is a hobby. He is also editor of several publications, of which the latest being Dr Mahathir’s Selected Letters to World Leaders.

Datuk Nick Zefferys

Governor and past President of the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Nicholas Zefferys is also CEO of Applied Consulting & Engineering Sdn. Bhd. which provides strategic planning and business development services in management, marketing, and technology. This includes facilitating corporate workshops and providing training.

Nick has served on a number of corporate, NGO, and charitable boards locally and abroad and is currently on the Pemudah Task Force to improve government services delivery. He was an officer in the US Navy and has worked internationally in telecommunications and marketing.

Nick is an author and contributor to articles, books and other publications and is a frequent lecturer at universities, institutions and conferences globally. Married with three grown children.

Tunku Soraya Dakhlah

Soraya has more than 15 years in the media industry. After living and working in Hong Kong, she returned to Malaysia in 1995 and helped establish MetroVision, Malaysia’s fourth television station. Since then she has occupied herself in a number of industries, including publishing, interior design, event management, and is actively involved in a number of charities. Soraya is also Rear Commodore of the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club and Chairperson of the Royal Langkawi
International Regatta.

Americk Sidhu

Born in Singapore and attempted education at primary and secondary school - St. John’s Kuala Lumpur, 6th form at United World College Singapore. Tertiary education: BS c (Hons) Biochemistry University of London. Diploma in Law (London) / Barrister of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn (London). Professional Experience: Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court Of Malaya since 1982. Specialising in personal injury and insurance law. Married to beautiful Americk Sidhu Deirdre, blessed with 2 wonderful daughters. Hobbies & Interests: Golf, food, wine appreciation, anything, as long as it’s alcoholic, interior design, landscaping and Balinese contemporary architecture. Aspirations: To retire to a villa in Bali, sit on a beach with a gin & tonic and write articles for HOMME.

Scott W. Brown

Scott is currently based in Baghdad working as a political consultant. His work carries him to the hotspots in Iraq and the wider Middle Eastern regions, with work in Beirut, Kuwait, Jordan, the UAE and Turkey.

Prior to his move to the Middle East, Scott worked in the UK Parliament for four years as advisor to senior Members of Parliament.

Mary McEvoy

Mary McEvoy relishes good writing, long friendships, and the opportunity to meet new people all over the world. Her career in communications and journalism spans Europe, Malaysia and the United States. She is currently director of global public relations for a high-tech company in SiliconValley, California. She is married with one daughter.

Adrian D’Cruz

Born in London and brought up in Sussex. Adrian first moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2004 after graduating in Business & Finance. After 2 years of working for a worldwide tax and financial advisory, he moved on to take up the position of Account Executive at Australian fund managers Absolute Asset Management. A keen sportsman, when not hard at work
or writing articles for Homme, you will find Adrian either out on the golf course, on the squash court, water-skiing at the Mines or sailing down in Port Klang. Away from sport Adrian considers himself a semi-professional chef and when not out sampling KL’s restaurants he will be found whipping up a storm in his kitchen.

 





Geoff Thomas

Geoff Thomas, originates from London and now resides in leafy Changkat Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur. He runs the celebrated Interior design firm Geoffrey Thomas Associates Sdn Bhd, majoring in quality residential projects, for both private and developer clients.

Kevin Larken

Kevin Larken hails from Montreal and currently works as a freelance dog handler. Prior to moving to Kuala Lumpur, he spent much of his life as an amateur ornithologist, roaming the world for new and exotic birds to add to his repertoire. Fuad Ahmad

Fuad began well by reading Law at Cambridge University but it was all down hill from there. After a brief stint as a Thespian, treading the local boards, Fuad went into the murky but highly lucrative world of corporate finance. Having retired
from wheeling, dealing and number crunching, Fuad now spends his time pursuing what’s important as well as occasionally indulging in some of the finer things in life: corporeal and otherwise. When free, Fuad enjoys writing about his second favourite subject: Being a Bachelor.
